Miracles Do Happen...

After being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of thirty four, Breanna never gave up hope.She continued to pray in church and at home for a cure for this disease that have taken so many of all ages including her mom. As she looked back over her life, she asked her niece Carol who came to visit her in the hospital. "what did I do to deserve this in my life"? Carol stood upright and said to Breanna. " We all go through some types of challenges in our lives and you will overcome this. " Carol didn't want her to give up hope,for she knew all things are possible who pray and believe in God.

So many days I felt bad Breanna said, and had to call on my two sisters Rachel and Megan to come and assist me out of bed. ''I sometimes felt angry at the thought of  them living a normal life while I go through a ton of medication and radiation treatments. I love my family with all my heart but no one knew exactly how I felt. My boyfriend Micheal who I dated since high school and planned to marry had become more distant when I became worse''. Micheal once replied  " why is your hair falling out and you are  vomiting all the time?" He didn't understand that the radiation treatments was draining me and making my hair fall out,clearly he started to become more distant. He recently said he was afraid, and couldn't bare to see me like this. I no longer see or talk with him for he had moved on with his life.


Paster Greg from Christian Methodist Church stops by with a few members to pray for me every Tuesday and Thursday of the week along with my two sisters. They would light candles in the house, close up all doors, lock all windows, and shut off all cell phones and began to read from the Bible. I felt uplifted and blessed to have people pray for me as I prayed for others to be healed in the same circumstance as myself.


One particular day I went to have a series of tests ran including some blood test. The nurse (Jean) called me three days later to informed me " that they must run another series of test,for all the  tests were coming back negative. The Doctors couldn't explain why the tests came back negative with me living with stage four cancer, but wanted to make sure all proper procedures where followed, and all instruments where clean.


I didn't allow myself to feel excited about the results, because I knew that I 've been through hell these last few months. My sister Megan went with me to have the test ran again and behold, three  more days went by and Doctor Roberts called and said, " All of your test results came back negative. I can't explain what this mean in medical terms, but your truly a lucky young lady."


I reached out, wrapped my arms around Doctor Robert's neck and kissed him on the cheek. I couldn't believe what I just heard. I looked up to the ceiling and fell down on my hands and knees and praised God. For it is He that performed this miracle.

My first Black Circus

Who would ever think of a Black Circus (UniverSoul Circus) coming to my hometown in Saint Louis, Missouri until one day my best friend Alicia spoke highly of this and invited me( Veronica) to attend with her. I had only knew of one circus ( Ringling Brothers )that I sometimes attended as a child.
I look forward to seeing everything it had to offer and especially the clowns....

                                                   Upon arrival parking was orderly and people were very friendly. I stated to Alicia " This is my first time ever going to a Black Circus "  Alicia responded " I go all the time, you will like it , and they dance and play good music"  I was amazed how they were so organized with the number of people with kids that showed up for the event. When entering the Big Top canopy we saw a selection of clowns running  and around entertaining all guests. The look in the kids' eyes highlighted the happiness they and their parents felt. Looking over my shoulder you could see as I smiled ,my own personal clown.



When the show started music played and people patted their feet and danced along with the music . It was such a wonderful time to see people and kids enjoying themselves.  One event had two men standing on what I called a See/Saw that pivots by weight while turning in midair. This was so amazing and very dangerous. Alicia said " They must have trained a lot in order to walk outside of the wheel as it turned in midair"  I thought to myself  " I wonder has anyone ever fell from this stunt ? .But still exited to see them perform this act in the picture below.

.

Many performances where outstanding like the African dance and culture show that's not shown because the pictures blurred from all their movements . The one below with the man holding on to a pole while another man stand directly on the side with all his weight, the man on the pole don't move or brake a sweat. How could this be?,  I asked Alicia. She replied ''they trained hard and that they are masters of this." Something for all age groups to look at with astonishment.





Last but not least is the variety of trained animals that did tricks in the ring. They had some Zebra's that ran around in a circle coming very close to the audience in the front seats that you can reach out and touch them and Elephants holding each other tails going around in the ring and kneeling down as if they were praying. How amazing is this .While both trainers worked well with the animals and captured the audience hearts. 



During the conclusion of the Big Top event great music started playing as the audience dance and shouted " The show must go on " I look forward to the next time they come to visit and bring along some of my family and friends. The Cemetery

Gail and Harry were at the Washington Park Cemetery   on that Sunday night drinking when they suddenly sighted a dead man rise from his grave. The racked sound of the Tombstone marked "He Will Rise " that broke into pieces was heard. Gail screamed, pointing " Did you just hear someone called out our names?" Harry replied "Yes," as he was looking around to see if someone was there.

 
 Harry immediately grabbed Gail's hand and said " Let's get out of here ".When he heard another muffled sound coming directly behind him. Gail became afraid and yelled "Who's there?''. She quickly asked Harry to take her home. As they both started to leave the cemetery the ground shook while the stifled sound calling on them became louder. "Is it an earthquake?" Harry asked, as Gail was getting up from the ground.

 
Gail baffled, still looking for where this strange sound were coming from ,she then ran away in fear. Harry ran after her, shouting " Gail , Gail where are you ?". Suddenly, as Harry paused to catch his breath he caught a glimpse of a tall man standing near a tombstone. When he approached the life -like figure he could only see a dark shadow of emptiness inside. Harry started backing away as he too was becoming afraid of the dark cemetery possessions.

Thunderous noises crept out from the graves with tombs

starting to drown inside the ground. Harry seeing this became afraid, fell backwards hitting his head on a rock, dazed and confused,he thought it was Gail hovering over him, not knowing it was the lifeless image of the man he just saw."Go away," Harry shouted, while blood streamed from his head. 

 
"Gail where are you"?, Harry spoke softly ,while his eyes fixed on the lifeless man drawing near.Harry became agitated and looked for any object to defend himself with. When suddenly Gail fell over his legs crying " They are everywhere ". Both of them fearing of what was about to happen next as the lifeless ghostly figure loomed over them.

 It was the man from the broken tombstone .He had died a horrific death by torture and dismemberment. He promised that all shall pay for his life being taken.

Saving a life

For Sharon, the experience she had in rescuing an older gentleman some years ago still echo in her mind. Each time she flashed back in her memory she was always thankful to God for saving a soul. She went on to narrate her unforgettable story .''  I had gone home for the holidays and decided to go work out at the gym. When I realized that I didn't have enough money on me, I went back to my car to get some more money, when I passed this older gentleman walking into the gym. Sharon said " As I came back in from my car the older gentleman that I'd passed was lying on the floor. I along with two other men ran over to assist the older man. I couldn't get a pulse and began to start chest compressions on the older man. The facility didn't have AED ( Automatic External Defibrillator) on site. One of the men, I found out later that assisted, was a nurse that ran to his car to get a face shield while I continued with the chest compressions as he began the rescue breaths."

"As we were still performing the CPR'' , Sharon stated ", It seemed like forever for the ambulance to arrive. The paramedics never stopped me from doing the CPR as they pulled out their AED and continued to set up equipment before they took over. Once the AED instructed- stand back administering shock, no rhythm  detected. I then continued with the CPR''.

She continued "the victim started to respond as we were hearing the sound of gurgling. At this point in time the paramedics took over and proceeded to the hospital. During the ride to the hospital the victim had stopped breathing with no pulse at least twice before he finally became stable. He was airlifted to another hospital.
While in the hospital I called to check on him and found out that he had quadruple bypass surgery. Later in recovery, he was stable and doing okay".


Three years after the incident Sharon's mother went to that same gym where the incident occurred and came across the man she rescued, according to Sharon this older man approached her mother and said '' it was your daughter that saved my life."

ICL reaches out

 Reaching out to help others have always been a positive outlook all over the world. In St.Louis Missouri a group of volunteers who work at ICL came together to help those in need at St.Patrick Center for women by preparing and serving a healthy well balance meal.


Stacy in the video below has been involved in helping St.Patrick Center for women for a number of years. She stated  "that every night is women night and that St.Patrick hosts up to 20 women to spend the night and have dinner in a nice,clean and safe environment.  "The women really appreciate when we bring in fresh food and some women have health issues that can't always eat Pasta and Casserole dishes so often served. While volunteers may be limited if any throughout the week to help"  Stacy stated.


  It was a lovely evening for these women as they happily received their Blessing Bottles after their meal from the wonderful staff at ICL listed below.
