MAD - Making a Difference

 A predominately young black man named (JT) is captured speaking on being a positive role model for our young Black men in today's society. He stated "The importance of mentoring young people not only in sports and education, but also discussing Black History may help them approach circumstances in life in a different way. "Lets listen to his take on being a Positive Role Model in the video below.

When asked about how the police treat young Black Men and why so much Black on Black crime he said "All cops are not bad and the media betrays a stigma of Black men in a negative view. That some cops think Black Men are all bad." but he also stated  " That there is White on White crime as well, basically it's your environment, along with poverty can trigger so much violence in our communities."

  

He has team up with a young gentleman named Mark Sutton and together has formed a program (MAD) Making A Difference in ST. Louis.


 Mark and JT is mentoring young people regardless of race through education , nutrition and health. Both men are advocating for men to step up and become a Big Brother by being a positive influence in these young men life.  JT said  "his belief through positive reinforcement, mentoring, and employment would help reduce crime and killing in our neighborhoods."

The Fight

A fight took place between two best friends that no one could explain."How did this happen?"Keisha asked the woman standing next to her for one of the men was her brother."Carter has always been a troublesome kid coming up in our community with stealing , drugs and violence that always pursued him where ever he went," Keisha told another bystander and added ''while Bobby was a ladies' man and always ran away from trouble''.

As the crowd continued to grow and the fight became more intense, Bobby suddenly kicked Carter in the groin.Carter slumped over and moaned."You bastard "Bobby said as he punched him in the face. 
Down he went when Keisha shouted" Stop it, Stop it right now". The crowd watched intensely as if watching entertainment wrestling and waiting for the next strike to land,tempers flared and gestures made to strike Carter again for he had robbed and killed so many people in the neighborhood that they were ready to see him dead.

One man from the crowd yelled," he's got a knife" ,Carter plunged the knife into Bobby's back as Keisha screamed "someone please stop this and call the police", but no one did. Seeing Carter landed his last and final blow by stabbing his best friend in the throat. Bobby fell to his knees holding his hand up to his throat trying to stop the blood from gushing out of his neck as he took his last breathe.


Carter was arrested , prosecuted and jailed.He sat thinking about how regretful he is for killing his best friend.He narrrated the ugly incident to an inmate "It was the neighborhood tramp that I slept with that had given me HIV. I tried to inform Bobby, but he loved this woman not realizing that I too had been with her. When I approached Bobby about her given me HIV he insisted that I was lying , that I wanted him to become like me living the life of drugs and violence. Outrage, he swung and hit me in the chest as Darla his fiance laughed and edge him on''.

He continued ''enraged with anger and fury in Bobby's house. I broke away from him and grabbed Darla by her neck with both hands trying to snuff  life out of her as she mumbled 'you are hurting me'. I became furious at the fact that she laughed, knowing I'm dying from the deadly virus she gave me and infected others. 
I said to Bobby 'You're my brother that I've known for twenty years. I would never lied to you. She's a tramp, when suddenly Darla yelled out ' He's lying beat the shit out of him'.



Bobby eyes weld up with tears as he rushed me. We both fell out of the front window and  landed outside on the ground as the battle became bloody between friends, people gathered hearing Darla still chanting 'liar!'.That was how I got the death penalty all because of a woman," Carter stated.

Why some men avoid Doctor

Whether young or old, rich or poor ,white or black the fact is that there is a unifying factor among the men why some cringe at the thought of a "Doctor's visit." Richard Martinez is a retiree, now 63 and lives in Chicago Illinois, when asked the last time he visited the doctor for a medical check up, Martinez placed his hand up to his chin and looked down at the floor and then replied "I really don't remember the last time I went, maybe 30 years ago". He also stated that " Doctor's office always make me feel uncomfortable.My last visit to the hospital was eight years ago when my mother was on admission but she later died.That image of her lying in bed and hooked up to a life support machine still haunts me. I'm just afraid ,that's all ".


 For Joseph Nadler from Los Angeles, California who too hasn't been to the Doctor in 20 years because of his bad memory he had. He said " The sight of the white coat , stethoscope and surgical instruments scare me .I had a bad experience from the nurse drawing blood from my veins as a teenager which frightened me.
I was afraid of syringe with needle and seeing blood made me feel like passing out''.He added ''I thought it was because I was nervous but later I realized that after seeing blood from my co-worker being injured at work.I collapsed, I am never the same since."


     Robert was interviewed in St.Louis,Missouri.His view on why most men don't like to go is captured in the video. He spoke on why some men are afraid and said they didn't want to find out any negative results that could come forth from any laboratory tests being done on them. He even doubted the genuine intention of some of these medical practitioners and said that ''some doctors possibly want to use patients as guinea pig coupled with the high cost of health insurance these days.''
However, Robert agreed that all men should have a routine check up at least once in a year.

The Native Tunnel

      Mysterious events lies in this native tunnel called Primer Valley located in Brita town which was discovered some centuries ago.It is known for its historic ruins, artifacts and carve inscriptions.

Many risked their lives to do research, while others go there for adventure .The tunnel is filled with sacred objects and exotic plants.

Nancy along with her colleagues: Morgan, Dave, and Bob, decided to take this trip after hearing about some strange encounters from people that visited Brita Town. Many secrets and discoveries are known to capture the minds of many. The tunnel has special power to punish those who are unfaithful. Nancy warned ''There is no guarantee of return for the mystery is the beauty it beholds and the challenge of leaving could be entrapment or death''. Morgan is a childhood friend of Nancy, She ( Morgan ) is in charge of all the planning and preparation for the trip.

Upon arrival the group hired some native men that knew the history of the tunnel to escort them on their journey and keep them safe from unknown wildlife in the forest.When they got to the entrance of the tunnel the escorts pointed to the tunnel, as they were backing up in fear realizing the dangers the tunnel possessed. "They appeared to be afraid to go any further",Morgan said.

            David shouted to the group "this looks like and old ordinary tunnel,nothing spectacular about it at all'', but when they entered everyone looked at each other in amazement for they couldn't believe their eyes.It was like they were in paradise. The tunnel walls have symbolic engravements on them that only Bob could translate.He said that one of the inscription is translated thus " Thou shall not enter without a pure heart for one must not exist without a sacrifice."No one knew what this meant for they were amazed as to what still remains in the tunnel as they walked through. 

     "Please everyone stay together!",Morgan said. 

As they continued the journey,Nancy felt a strange presence that she couldn't shake.It was then the flowers clasped around her ankles. She couldn't move.The plants held her in place."Bob help me,"she cried. But everyone appeared to be dazed looking at the beauty of the tunnel as they seem to drift further away from her.Nancy then pulled out a hunter's knife and began to cut away the flowers.

   Screaming at the top of her lungs."Please help me," Morgan extended her hand and pulled Nancy out of her entrapment.They ran back towards the way they came as blood started seeping out from the rocks.The rest of the group were no where to be found as Morgan and Nancy screamed.

Though Bob had in the begining boasted '' I will go and come back, nothing will happen'', while David told the escorts that he would make history by breakng the record of being the first man that would bring mysterious flowers from the the mysterious tunnel.

Now,things did not happen as they thought or planned.
Bob had turned into a moron walking aimlessly in the tunnel.
 David had turned into a stone as blood was oozing from his body but was talking and couldn't move.Nancy had metamorphosed to a tree yet speaking like human being.Morgan was dancing to music without knowing where the sound was coming from.The flowers were wailing and everywhere shone like the galaxy.
